Wrap yourself in a rich Irish tradition
Originated in the early 1900s on the Aran islands, off the west coast of Ireland, Aran knitwear has been made in Ireland for over a hundred years. From fishermen to farmers, generations of Irish people have trusted it to shield them from the merciless sea winds that sweep onto the coast.
Using skills passed down through families and stitches rich in symbolism, Aran tells the unique story of our culture and heritage.
IrelandsEye Knitwear Arans
These Arans are from the Kindred Collection and feature traditional stitches that are used in contemporary ways. The Irish landscape is a huge source of inspiration for us and each piece is named after a wild Irish plant, including Nettle, Thistle, Iris, Fennel, Sorrell, Elder, Brome and Hawthorn.
The yarn used to create these pieces is a lighter yarn blend of wool, cotton, cashmere and silk. This Donegal yarn is exclusive to IrelandsEye and each piece is carefully crafted to be suitable all year round. The Kindred Collection is designed and made here in our factory in Ireland. Each piece is available in a choice of 6 colours drawn from nature - Seashell, Pearl Grey, Apple, Sunset, Seaspray and Aquamarine.
