Choosing the right size isn’t always as easy as it seems, especially when it comes to knitwear. It’s a very personal choice, one that reflects more how we want to feel than that which we truly are. Whether you love the feeling of wool directly against the skin or if you prefer a garment that truly envelopes the body, we have the perfect piece for you.
At IrelandsEye we work with 3 main qualities, a clean and versatile 100% Merino wool yarn, a luxurious blend of 95% virgin wool and 5% cashmere and our newly developed lightweight blend of 50% recycled wool, 45% virgin wool and 5% recycled cashmere. Each yarn brings its own unique properties to work with.
Our merino wool is clean, strong and very delicate on the skin and this is why it serves as the base for some of our bestselling garments such as The Clover Cropped Aran Cardigan. Merino wool lends itself beautifully to Aran cable design, large stitches and three dimensional patterns nod to the traditional wools used to create early Arans but the high grade fibre has a much softer hand feel, perfect for everyday wear. Merino wool garments have strong elasticity meaning they can sometimes feel snug on your first wear, but this will gently loosen over time to reveal a more relaxed fit. We recommend choosing your regular size for the best fit or go up one size for a more slouchy look.

These garments have a beautiful drape as a result of this weight and lend themselves well to a more oversized fit and so we design with this in mind. Our iconic Roundstone Sweater is the perfect piece to make you feel warm and cosy without compromising on classic, effortless style. We suggest choosing your regular size for the truest fit or go up one or two sizes for a more oversized look.

A lightweight blend of 50% recycled wool, 45% virgin wool and 5% recycled cashmere which creates the perfect knitwear for spring and summer. The recycled elements come from post-consumer goods, meaning they are the highest quality wool and cashmere on the market that have been repurposed to create something new. The resulting garments are light and flowy with a slimmer fit that feels so soft against the skin. The Cassia Cardigan perfectly displays the refined elegance and classic fit of the garments. These pieces are very true to size and look best when you choose your normal size.
