All in this together
Before there was a brand, there was one man in his garage in Dublin knitting sweaters to keep his family warm. His name was Jim O’Sullivan and his dream was to create a legacy with a business that his family could work in for generations. When a knitwear machine came up for sale he bought it and started teaching them how to use it and IrelandsEye Knitwear was born.

Weaving sustainability into everything we do
Every decision we make in IrelandsEye is considered and thought through. From the design of the garments, the quality and the colours of the yarns all the way to ensuring that we put our production waste to good use. We now use absolutely no plastic in our packaging and even use recycled paper for our handwritten notes that go with each and every garment that leaves here.
Designed to last a lifetime
All of our garments are made to last a lifetime and perhaps, if passed down to another generation, even more than one lifetime. We make sure that every single piece is up to our high quality standards. Every IrelandsEye garment passes through 27 different sets of skilled, caring hands before it’s sent on to our customer.

Zero production waste
We have worked hard to get to a zero production waste level as we recycle and reuse everything. We specifically only produce small quantities of each design and knit all of our garments to shape, this ensures we are limiting the amount of waste in the production of each garment.
We also use backwinding machines to unwind any garments that don't reach our quality standards and donate that re-spun yarn and other usable waste such as the cones our yarn is spun around, to social enterprises such as ReCreate where the materials are used for art classes in schools and special needs facilities.
We also donate some of our yarn to local community knitting groups that knit blankets, scarfs and hats for charities and people in need.
All of our lighting is LED are on sensors, we recycle all the steam from our steaming machines and our water consumption is kept to a minimum. By filtering and purifying the water we do use, we can then use less soap to wash the garments.
Fully recyclable packaging
All of our packaging is fully recyclable and contains zero plastic, and we are really proud to still have maintained that personal touch, from the tissue paper to the personally hand written notes that go out with every order. When you open your IrelandsEye purchase, we want you to feel all the love that went into it, from beginning to end.
